Frontier Rail Ltd, a Private business Enterprise entity in Ghana desires to undertake the venture and build the Western Corridor line starting from the mining and business district of Takoradi - Tarkwa to Dunkwa and complete the Phase I loop as stated above. Phase 2a and Phase 2b shall be from Tachiman to Hamile and Tachiman to PAGA as described above. Preference as to which of the last two phases comes first shall depend on the outcome of our planned negotiations with the government of Burkina Faso in concert with all stakeholders/partners.

A MOU between the Ministry of Railways Development and Frontier has been requested by the Ministry, and Frontier forwarded a draft MOU to the ministry.

Frontier Rail Ltd has initiated efforts to raise capital from external sources; supra-national entities, private equity firms and others, to create an Special-Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to be formed for the execution of this project. The financing package shall consist of equity, mezzanine and debt instruments.
