Studies Undertaken to Guide Development of the Railway System

As part of Government’s program for a holistic development of the railway sub-sector, a Railway Master Plan was completed in December, 2013 to serve as a blueprint to guide the strategic development of railway network across the country starting with the existing lines. We may tweak this study for the Western line if need be for maximum gains to the nation. Any such tweaking shall be in consultation with the Ministry of Railway Development.
